ÌTÀNNÁ is the botanical chapter of ATELIER carried into ceremonial white. Its name comes from the Yoruba ìtànná — the blossom, the act of coming into flower — built on the root tàn, to spread and to give light. The gown reads as a single stem in bloom: hand-sculpted silk-organza petals and hand-couched tendrils travel from the bodice's edge across the hip and release into the skirt, the density thinning as it descends. A strapless corseted bodice holds the line clean so the flowering carries the whole story; below the hip the faille opens into a full trumpet, cut so the bride moves in one continuous sweep. In West African marriage rites the bride is not simply dressed but adorned — flowered, praised, and sent forward. ÌTÀNNÁ is that moment made garment: the bride not arriving complete, but opening.
